I remember the day when Jay’s mother brought him home. The Pup was a newborn baby lying in a crib. I must have been 3 years old, making this one of my earliest memories. Little did I know then how much that little baby would mean to me as I grew older.
Pup and I went to 2 baseball games. When my first daughter was born, he treated me to a Yankees game and several years before that, he and I went to Boston and saw the Red Sox at Fenway.
Pup and I backpacked on the Appalachian trail in Connecticut and spent many days at his parents’ house there.
Pup even visited me in New Hampshire as, to my children’s delight, the Easter Bunny.
A yearly summer weekend at Jay and Kathy’s camp became a joy-filled ritual.
I’m just rambling, but my memories of Jay are endless and will always be a source of joy. He was a dear friend.
