Obituary of Barbara M. Austin

Barbara M. Austin, age 66, of Venice, Florida, passed away on September 13, 2007. She was born on July 25, 1941 in Newport News, Virginia. She managed The Wheel House of Gifts with her husband, Lyle in Bristol, New Hampshire. She moved to Venice 7 years ago. She was a member of the Rebekkas, Order of Eastern Star and Christ United Methodist Church in Venice, Florida. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Lyle; daughters, Karen A. Campanozzi of Watauga, Texas, Sharon A. Rockwell of Concord, New Hampshire; father, Joseph L. Melzer, Sr. of Newport News, Virginia; sisters, Bonnie Atkins of Newport News, Virginia, Doris J. Austin of Englewood, Florida and a brother, Joseph L. Melzer, Jr. of Newport News, Virginia. She also leaves behind five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving and compassionate wife & mother. A visitation will be held on Monday, September 17, 2007 from 6:00-8:00PM at Farley Funeral Home in Venice. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 – 10:00AM at Christ United Methodist Church in Venice. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of America, 3507 E. Frontage Rd, Suite 300, Tampa, Florida 33607 or to the Christ United Methodist Church, 1475 Center Road, Venice, Florida 34293. Farley Funeral Home in Venice, Florida is handling the arrangements.
