I sit here in the wee hours of the morning wondering if you're here with me. How many nights has sleep illuded us over the years. Whenever I woke in the night and resorted to wandering through the house, looking for a book to read, I always wondered if you were somewhere in the world doing the same thing. Now I know you are not. You have eternal peace. Rest no longer evades you. I think of you when something funny happens and I want to call you so we can laugh till tears fall from our eyes, till you beg me to stop, stop. When someone makes me mad I want to call you so you will tell me how mean they've been to me and how it was all their fault. I've lost that person in the world who will take my side even when I'm wrong, yet somehow tell me a better way to go. I believe you're still with me in some sort of way that I can't perceive, but I miss you being here with me the way you were, and I don't want to pretend that my life has not been forever altered by your parting. You were too important for me to do anything but embrace my sorrow until it turns back to the sweet memories we've shared. I know this will happen but not yet and I refuse to be rushed. My heart longs for you and takes my breath away when I least expect it. You are my sister, my champion and I will love you forever.

It is amazing how well we know someone we have never met. I knew Barbara thru her daughter Karen who I have come to look up to and admire. It is very obvious that Barbara was a strong and loving woman who instilled these virtues in her children. My thoughts and prayers are with Barbara and her family as we grieve her passing. I celebrate her life, her legacy and the family she worked all her life to sculpt. God Bless.

I met Barbara and Lyle once, but know her daughter and granddaughter (Karen & Emilee) well. I know that she will be sorely missed. But, the family is blessed that they had her for so long and Emilee got to know her and build many memories with her to share with her children. To Karen and Sharon, my heart aches for you as I can only imagine. I am thankful of the brevity of the worst part though. HE will bring you through and she will never leave you.

Me and my family would like to send our love and sympathy to Lyle, Karen, Sharon and their extended families. I was truly blessed by the Lord not only with one mother, but with two. Barb is a dear friend of mine and a second mother to me. She now lives in my heart until the day the Lord calls me home and then we will meet again, never to be seperated and living with our Lord and Savior. What a day of celebration that will be! The Lord has truly blessed those who knew Barb. She was an angel on earth!

OMG! the tears are flowing,i`m such a sensitive person.i just can`t believe i didn`t make that telephone call i was going to awhile back.i met her and lyle stopping at the gift shop on the way to see dan in hebron. always, i would have to stop, and if the shop wasn`t open i would go in the house for coffee. what a sweetheart she was. she`ll always be in my thought`s. the last time they were up to new hampshire, they weren`t here that long, so i didn`t get a chance to see them. god love her. lyle, sharon and karen, i think of you too at this very sorrowful time, believe me, i`ll never forget her, we just never know when it`s our turn, but life isn`t fair. they say the good die young and so right they are. these under the bridge people who live there, summer and winter, and nothing ever happen`s to them.my flock`s have been in bloom and i think of you guy`s, as lyle you dug them up for me. i will forever think of the austin`s. just the greatest people and will never be forgotten. i just hope she knew that i loved her, a great friend that i met at the gift shop. i love you barb .lyle, sharon and karen, love you too. my thought`s and prayers go out to you at this time. god bless. love you all. verna

I did not personally know Barbara but I feel like my life has been so blessed by the works she did in hers. Her daughter Karen is one of my closest friends and she is one of the most caring and wonderful women I have ever met. Surely this is her mother's light shining through her. i know that it will continue to shine because even though she has left this body she will always be here in spirit, in the loving ways that she has taught her family to live and always in our hearts. My prayers are with you. God bless, Rachel Burton
