So sorry for your loss. I play guitar a bit and find Elvis music one of the most enjoyable styles to perform. I am sure his music brought much joy to family & friends. May he be jamming with Elvis in Heaven. RIP

It’s not just the life you live, it’s the life you shared.
Metal detecting enthusiast, whose life long dream was to find a civil war belt buckle.
He never did find that buckle, but one time he jumped for joy when he found a gold coin. Or at least, he thought it was gold.
See, I had been watching him quite a bit, and I have an uncanny knack for identifying patterns in things. I predicted his path perfectly, and walked out way ahead of him, and disappeared behind a fallen tree, where I buried this brass coin replica I bought online.
It was a perfect decoy, and when I worked a circle around him coming up behind, I saw him digging in the spot where I buried the coin just ten minutes prior. I think the entire club heard the whoop when he dug that up. It was the funniest moment in metal detecting.
He would later try to get me back but I knew better lol.
Dad could fix anything. He had a mind for figuring things out and liked to work in the mechanical realm with his hands and ideas.
Elvis may be timeless, but Nick “Elvis” Karels is the melody in our memories and the chorus in our hearts. Even though he's left the stage, his voice will never fade.
He’s been many things to many people, from working as a Police Officer, a Chimney Sweep, Cable Guy, Army Veteran, to singing Elvis and running his door company, he did it his way.
Taught me many things. Fishing, fixing, thinking critically, analyzing, and how to admit when you’re wrong.
One of the hardest things to endure is not being able to sit down in person and have a conversation about how things are going. Those now have to be had in the heart. I’m grateful for the memories that we have, and for the digital age that lets us keep them all close at hand.
Thanks for all the kind words. Dad can finally share a dance with Grandma again.
Nick Jr.

Hi Sharon. I was so heartbroken to hear of Nick. I always had such a wonderful time with him on and off stage with the Country Roads Band. You remember me as Billy Hancock but when I became legally disabled I went to my first and middle name Billy Wayne. God Bless Y'all and I will forever remember you both. Love Y'all

Dear Sharon and family,
We send our love and condolences as you navigate life without Nick.
So many moments of wonderful memories of such a sweet man. Remembering his Elvis renditions at the Burger weddings and performances bring a smile. Our lives are mosaics of all the people we’ve met and experiences we’ve had. Nick is a bright piece of our mosaic.
Thinking and praying for all of you as you lose such a wonderful husband and dad.
