Obituary of Margaret Marion Armstrong

It is with great sadness to announce the peaceful passing of Margaret Marion Armstrong. Margaret was 92 and passed away on January 21, 2024. She was born September 9, 1931, in Detroit, Michigan to Sidney and Grace Blakney. Margaret is survived by her husband of 70 years James Armstrong, daughters Sandi, Jodi and Lynn, four grandchildren, Matthew, Eric, Lindsea and Connor along with two great grandchildren, Ameila and Cecilia.

Margaret was an avid Florida Gator football fan and spent many years attending games along with boating, watching the birds and sunsets at their home on Manasota Key and later in Venice. She was a wonderful cook, and her entire family is very fortunate to have experienced all these joys with her creating lasting memories. Margaret was a loving and devoted housewife and an amazingly dedicated mother. Once her daughters all graduated from high school, she went on to be a successful real estate broker in both Venice and Englewood until retirement.

Services will be held privately for family members. In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret’s name can be sent to the Samaritan’s Purse which is an organization she held close to her heart.
