Nancy O'Shea

Obituary of Nancy T. O'Shea

Nancy Trinkle O’Shea, 87, passed away peacefully in her sleep, on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.

Nancy was born in Roanoke, Virginia on April 7, 1936, to Clarence and Bertha (Brinkley) Trinkle. Her family lived in Roanoke until 1950, when her father’s job took them to Richmond, Virginia, where she attended St. Gertrude Catholic high school; she was the class Salutatorian, graduating in 1954. She then attended Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, PA, studying Biology and Chemistry.

She married her high school sweetheart, Ronald Page Wyatt in June of 1957, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alexandria, VA. They were married for five years, and had three children: Ronald Page, Karen Lee and Kevin Trinkle. Tragically, her husband Ronald died after complications suffered during a motor vehicle accident in 1962.

She later met Lawrence Francis O’Shea, and they married in June of 1965 in Washington, DC. Larry adopted her three children, and together they had three additional children: Katherine Brinkley, Kenneth Lawrence and Lee Anne. They lived in Fairfax until 1992, when they relocated to Chesterfield, VA.

Nancy worked for many years as a Realtor and then as a Travel Agent in Fairfax, VA. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, was an avid reader, loved to garden, enjoyed her Bridge Club, Garden Club and gourmet dinner group. She loved hosting parties and friends at their home in Fairfax. Her simple pleasures included spending time with the many dogs and cats that she rescued and riding on the tractor mowing the lawn. Nancy's favorite hobby was cheering on her children and grandchildren from the sidelines of their various sporting events. Known as Fancy Nancy and Nana Banana, she was also the consummate wine connoisseur. She loved to travel; she and Larry enjoyed many memorable trips together, and she spent the last 25 years traveling with her children, grandchildren and friends.  She was the best daughter, sister, cousin, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was everyone’s greatest supporter, cheerleader, and sounding board, and so very caring; she would move heaven and earth to find a way to help you any way that she could.

She is survived by her six children Ronald P. O’Shea of Venice, FL, Karen O. (Carl) Kokernak of Englewood, FL, Kevin T. (Susan) O’Shea of Glen Allen, VA, Kenneth L. (Sarita) O’Shea of Naples, FL, Katherine O. (Joel) Kirkham of Centreville, VA and LeeAnne O. (Robert) Dragani of Plymouth, IN; her sixteen grandchildren: Shannon, Meghan, Katie, Patrick, Sean, Ryan, Colin, Britlin, Keenan, Connor, Mackenzie, Kennedy, Bailey, Tristan, Robbie, Giovanni, Larry, and KayLee, and 15 great-grandchildren, with one on the way... and her loyal beagle Riley.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Moore Trinkle, Jr & Bertha Brinkley Trinkle; brother, Clarence Moore Trinkle, III; her first husband, Ronald Page Wyatt and her second husband, Lawrence Francis O’Shea.
