Obituary of LaShawn Mitchell

LaShawn Juan “Hurc” Mitchell, a cherished soul known for his giving spirit and compassionate
heart, passed away on January 16, 2024, in Venice, Florida. Born to his mother, Claudine
Anderson on December 3, 1980, LaShawn was raised in Laurel, Florida with his mother,
Stepfather, George Anderson, and his younger siblings GA, Marcus, Adrian, and Lashawnda.
LaShawn attended Venice High School and was a member of the graduating class of 2000.
Throughout high school, he played sports and worked at Publix. He went on to become an
entrepreneur where he invested in his own business breeding American Bullies. Aside from his
business, LaShawn loved to go early morning fishing, cook for his friends and family, travel,
work on cars, and spend time with his children.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother and stepfather, Claudine and George; his children,
Andrew, Lashawn Jr., Tianna, Deshawn, and Ashawna; two grandchildren, 9 siblings, 3
stepsiblings, and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and
friends.
LaShawn leaves a legacy of love, laughter, and endless giving. He will be deeply missed by all
who know him. His warm spirit, big and bold aura, and infectious laugh will continue to live on in
the hearts of his family, friends, and all the lives he touched.
