Obituary of Edward Gordon Bain

Edward “Eddie” Gordon Bain of Venice, Florida, passed away on December 5, 2023 at the age of 62. He was born on July 23, 1961 in Dearborn, Michigan and grew up in Allen Park, Michigan. Prior to moving to Venice in 2013 Eddie was the owner of CHAP Automotive in Detroit for 25 years and most recently worked at Freedom Boat Club where he was also a member. He was also a member of the Men’s Golf League at Riverview. He had an unwavering passion for Detroit sports, with a special place in his heart reserved for the Lions. In addition to his support for Detroit sports Ed was an avid hockey player who brough the same dedication and love for the game to the rink. His passion extended beyond playing as he generously shared his knowledge and coached his two sons. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; two sons, Jason (Jessica) Gourlay, Derek Bain; his mother, Catherine D’Amico; a brother Tom (Ranae) Bain; three stepsiblings, Nick (Jennifer) D’Amico, John (Vicki) D’Amico, Terry (Robert) Almaguer; two grandchildren, Cody & Clark Gourlay. Eddie also leaves behind a cousin, Fred (Linda) Weston, many nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Earl Bain; stepfather, John D’Amico and a brother, John Bain. To honor Ed’s memory a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 20th 2024 at the Venezia Hotel in Venice Florida from 1:00pm-4:00pm where lunch will be served. A service will also be held in Michigan at a later date which will be determined and communicated to friends and family. Your presence and support during this time will be greatly appreciated.
