Obituary of Linda A. Bayard

Linda A. Bayard, age 81, of Venice, FL, passed away in her home on September 28, 2023, after a brief illness. She was born on December 24, 1941, in St. Louis, MO where she graduated from the St. Louis Lutheran High School in 1959.
Linda started her banking career at the Waterbury Saving Bank as a Secretary to the Bank President. She graduated from the Williams College of Banking – Trust Division and worked as a Trust Officer at the Plainville Bank in Plainville, CT.
She moved to Venice, FL in July 1979 and joined the Venice Nokomis Bank as a Trust Officer in 1980. In October 1983, she helped establish a Trust Department headquartered on Longboat Key. One of the highlights of her career was working with David Voight as he opened the new local Guaranty Bank of SW Florida. Linda retired from Trust Administration for Hancock Bank in 2012 at the age of 70. She will always be known in the banking community for her professionalism and dedication to serving her clients.
Linda was pre-deceased by her husband Richard T. Bayard and grandson Matthew Bayard.
She is survived by her son David Bayard and his wife Pamela of Englewood, daughter Christine Kirtley of Venice, grandsons Wesley and Daniel Bayard, two great grandchildren Wolfe and LilyAnn Bayard and grand pets Leo and Domino.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.  Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 11:00 am at the Grace United Methodist Church in the Leonard Delaney Peale Memorial Chapel, 400 East Field Ave., Venice, FL 34285. Donations in Linda’s memory may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to
