Obituary of Yvonne Marie d'Anjou

Yvonne d'Anjou, 90 of Port Charlotte, FL  passed away on March 24, 2023.  She was born October 9, 1932, in Ste Aurelie, Quebec, daughter of Edouard and Emilia (Labbe) Maheu.  Yvonne said she was one of seventeen children, she is survived by 7 siblings, Marcelle, Sergent, Julienne, Renelle, Igan, Nolin and Denyse (god daughter).  

On May 22, 1951, Yvonne married Gaston d'Anjou, they were married 60 wonderful years. Yvonne and Gaston made their home and raised their children on several dairy farms, first in Paquetteville, Que., then in South Canaan and Coventry Vermont. She was a real hard worker. On the farms, she drove tractors, helped repair farm equipment and grew huge vegetable gardens. They eventually retired in Hollywood, Florida where Yvonne maintained the house of their dreams on Hollywood Boulevard, just one mile from Hollywood Beach, FLorida. They were so proud of their house, where they entertained many of her relatives. Yvonne eventually became an American citizen, she loved the United States.  For many summers Yvonne and Gaston rented a cabin in Wallace Pond, Vermont where they enjoyed the lake and family visiting often.

Yvonne enjoyed life and her family, and her family loved her very much.

Yvonne was predeceased by husband Gaston in 2011, sons Pierre, Jules, daughter in law Jane, and grandson Terry. Yvonne is survived by her children Francine (Robert) Allen, Bibiane Brunelle, Pierrot d'Anjou,  Jackie (David) d'Anjou, grand daughter Zelda Brooks, great grandsons Alex and Connor. She will be missed beyond words! No public services will be held.
