Obituary of Edward E. Woodruff Jr.

Edward Earl Woodruff Jr. (78) of Lanoka Harbor, New Jersey passed away on June 12, 2022 from a long-term illness.
Ed was born on September 15, 1943 to his parents Edward Earl Woodruff Sr. and Florence Woodruff (Wurzburger) in Elizabeth New Jersey.
In his life, Ed served in the United States Army as an Infantryman with the 25th Infantry Division. Soon after enrolling in the military, he went overseas to Vietnam to fight for his country. When Ed returned to the states he worked in various retail supermarket chains, until he settled into a job with ShopRite as a produce manager. Ed was a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 1262, Ed retired after 20 years with ShopRite.
Although Ed achieved success in his field, the scars left behind from the war plagued him as he battled the memories of his friends that had fallen. Ed felt he could serve fellow vets by helping them get compensation for their illnesses from the war.
Ed loved his cats Glubs, and Peanut. Ed enjoyed watching the New York Yankees, eating devil dogs and drinking coca-cola. Ed leaves behind three children, Edward Woodruff, long time partner Linda Bongiorno, Tommy Woodruff, spouse Dede Woodruff (Dell) and Elizabeth Woodruff (Oschele), spouse James Oschele, three step children Edward Charles Otte spouse Penny Otte (Fisher), Sandra Jean Otte, spouse Kimberley Ann Cain, William Gregory Hokien, and his long-time partner Erick Paredes, eight grandchildren Gabrielle Woodruff, Edward Woodruff, Kaia Woodruff, Kamryn Woodruff, Jacob Oschele, Joshua Otte, Kimberly Damen, and Alana Orell. Ed was predeceased by his wife of 18 years Jean Grace Woodruff (Ullmer), mother Florence Woodruff (Wurzburger), and father Edward Earl Woodruff Sr.
Ed will be sadly missed.
Services will be held in New Jersey on July 9th, 2022 at 10:30am at Riverside Cemetery in Toms River, NJ.
