Obituary of William Paul Kasko
William “Bill” Paul Kasko, 79, passed away on March 12, 2022, in Venice, FL. He was born on August 16, 1942, to Peter Paul and Ila Christine Kasko in Streator, IL. Bill graduated from Streator Township High School in 1960 and attended the University of Illinois, where he met his wife, Shirley Moeller. He and Shirley were married in 1963. Bill began working at Pure Oil in Shamberg, IL and retired as Senior Vice President of Safety Kleen Corporation in 1995. Bill and Shirley had owned a patio home in Plantation Golf and Country Club since 1987, but built a home and became full time residents in 1995.
Bill enjoyed camping at Fort Wilderness at Disney World and golfing at Plantation Golf and Country Club. He was an involved member of the community by being a member of the Elgin Chamber of Commerce, the Elgin United Way Board, President of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, President of the Plantation Golf and Country Board, member of the Sherman Hospital Board, and he and Shirley were members of the Iowa State Parents Board where their son attended.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, and uncle.
Bill is predeceased by his parents Peter and Ila Kasko and his son Jeffrey Allen Kasko.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley E. Kasko, daughter Jennifer Lynn Kasko, sister Paulette Christine Poppen, niece Adola Neumann, nephew Lee Henry Bridgman, niece Ann Poppen, and many friends and family.
A visitation will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 790 S Tamiami Trail, Venice, FL 34285, on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at 10AM. A service will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church the same day at 11AM with an interment and reception to follow.
