Obituary of Anthony Joseph Arnold, Sr.

Anthony Joseph Arnold, Sr., age 84, of Venice, FL, died on January 25, 2007. He was born in Baltimore, MD on March 31, 1922, and came to Venice 22 years ago. He was the owner of Arnold’s Factory Supplies in Baltimore for 40 years before retiring in 1984. He was an avid golfer, and was a member of both the Towson Golf and Country Club in Maryland, and the Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice. He was also a member of the Optimist Club and a former Little League Coach. Serving the US Navy during WWII, he was shot down over the North African Mediterranean Sea. He received two air medals for his military service. Surviving family members include his wife of 60 years, Doris Arnold of Venice; son Anthony J. Arnold, Jr., of Venice; daughters Robin Babes of Ft. Myers, FL, and Diane Litz of Lutherville, MD; 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. A memorial service will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations are made to the American Cancer Society South Sarasota/DeSoto Unit, 2801 Fruitville Rd., Ste. 250, Sarasota, FL 34237.
