Obituary of Harold Max Wakeman

Harold Max Wakeman, Jr. A native of Laconia, NH and also a resident of Venice, FL, Mr. Wakeman died on January 26, 2007 at the age of 78. He was a well-known banker and civic leader of his native city. A graduate of Boston University, Mr. Wakeman worked for a time as an accountant for the Federal Milk Market Administration before taking a banking position in Laconia. He retired in 1988 as president of Laconia Peoples National Bank and director of First NH Banks. His family includes Virginia, his wife of 56 years, daughter Beth Poulin-Smith of Swansea, NH and son Brian Wakeman of Midlothian, VA. Burial will be in Laconia, NH. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Plantation Community Foundation, 500 Rockley Blvd., Venice, FL 34293. Farley Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
