Obituary of Joseph A. Bai

Joseph A. Bai, 81, of Nokomis, passed away on January 28, 2007. He was born in Queens, NY. Joseph later joined the Air Force and was a B29 Flight Engineer having served in WWII and Korea. During his time in the service, Joseph had flown Charles Lindbergh from Kansas to the Philippines. He later became a New York City Police Officer and served for 20 years before retiring to Nokomis in 1973. He was a member of Epiphany Cathedral parish in Venice. He is survived by a daughter Jean Bossart and husband John of Gainesville, FL; son Joseph and wife Justine of Boston, MA; two grandchildren, Carl J. and John J. both of Boston. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Marie Bai. Memorial Mass will be 10 AM on Monday, Feb. 5th at Epiphany Cathedral in Venice. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Epiphany Cathedral School, 316 Sarasota St. Venice FL 34285.
