Obituary of Henrietta Laura Prather

Henrietta Laura “Hank” Prather, 85, of Englewood, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2007 in Venice, Florida. She was born December 1, 1921 in Detroit, Michigan. Mrs. Prather moved to this area 23 years ago from Newport, MI. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Englewood and former secretary of the Ladies Guild. Mrs. Prather’s was a former member of Grace Lutheran Church, member of the Swan Boat Club, and charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, James Prather of Englewood, FL; son, Gary (Marilyn) Prather of Englewood, FL; daughter, Barbara (Herb) Springer of Englewood, FL; sister, Florence Haviland of Walloon Lake, MI; 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren. A memorial gathering will be held from 10 – 10:30 AM on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Englewood, followed by a memorial service officiated by Pastor Earl Schmidt 11 AM.
