Obituary of Charlotte Virginia Morris Derby

Charlotte Virginia Morris Derby, 69, of Venice, FL & Baldwinsville, NY died March 6, 2007. She was born January 26, 1938 in Ogdensburg, NY and moved to this area in 2000 from Baldwinsville, NY. Mrs. Derby was a Visually Impaired Teacher in New York, retiring in 1999. She was a member of DeWitt Community Church in Baldwinsville, NY and Grace United Methodist Church in Venice, FL; member of the American Association of University Women; member of the Association of Visually Impaired in Syracuse, NY; volunteer for Pregnancy Outreach Program and the American cancer Society; received the national Teacher of the Year Award for Visually Impaired; retired from Onondaga BOCES in 1999. She is survived by her husband Robert of Venice & Baldwinsville, NY; Son David (Teresa) Rudd of Rochester, NY; daughter Carrie (John) Ryan of Tully, NY; 3 stepsons Martin (Laurie Ann) Derby of Hamburg, NY, Eric (Ellen) Derby of Clifton Springs, NY, & Brian Derby of Baldwinsville, NY; step-daughter Andrea Derby of Camillus, NY; sister Alice M. Poole of Canton, NY; brother Phillip (Jill) Morris of Wichita, KS; 4 grandchildren Lacey Rudd, Tyler Beckhorn, Justin & Cassidy Ryan; 7 step-grandchildren Aaron, Aurora, Elizabeth, Jamison, Rachel, Katrina & Jessica Derby; 1 niece & 3 nephews. Visitation will be held Wed, March 7th, 1:30 – 2:00 PM at Grace United Methodist Church. Funeral Service will be held Wed., March 7th 2:00 PM at Grace United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held Sat., March 10th, 2-3 PM at Falardeau Funeral Home, Baldwinsville, NY. Funeral Service will follow at 3 PM Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Baldwinsville, NY Memorial Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2801 Fruitville, Road, Suite 250, Sarasota, FL 34237.
