Obituary of Naomi Lydia Springer Borck

Naomi Lydia Springer (Sissy) Borck was born August 5, 1911 in Shelby, Ohio to Jim and Edna Springer. Thomas Edison presented her with her high school diploma. She received her nursing degree from Columbia University’s School of Nursing. She was married for over 50 years to Theodore J. Borck. They lived in New Orleans, then Sarasota, Florida and later in Dade City, Florida. She was an active member of the Garden Club, Women’s Club and the community. They spent their senior years in Englewood, Florida. There she became an active member of the Presbyterian Church in Englewood. She lived in Houston for the last eight years where she continued to make friends and inspire those around her with her positive attitude and strength. She was a loving mother, friend, nurse and caregiver and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her husband and her son, Jim Borck, precede her in death. Her children are Julia and Hassan Ramadan, Joyce and Ted Borck Jr., Edna and Drew Robins, Susan and George Borck, and Mary Helen Borck; grandchildren Nathan and Jacob Borck, Kai and Melissa Ramadan, Kent and Sara Ramadan, Ashley and Steven Krusinski; great granddaughters Ashley and Hannah Ramadan. Special thanks go to Hilda Eagleton, the ladies from Quality Living, and especially Thelma Canterberry. A family service will be held Friday March 23, at the Sarasota Memorial Park, Sarasota, Florida.
