Obituary of Julia A. Monterio

Julia A. Monterio, 81, of North Port, FL, went home on March 31, 2007. She was born on April 14, 1925 in Providence, Rhode Island, to Manual Soares and Antonia Ramos. She married James Monterio. They moved to the area in 1972 from Middleboro, MA. Julia was of the Methodist faith. She was an avid bingo player and was employed in Sarasota County in various retail stores, food service in schools and nursing homes. Survivors include a daughter, Janice & John Silva of North Port, FL; a sister, Mary Harris of Lynn, MA; a brother, Freeman & Paula Soares of North Port, FL; grandchildren, Gina, Leslie, Manny, Julie, Jon Jon, Lisa, Lakisha, thirteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James, daughter, Yvette Rose, and siblings, Joseph Soares, Robert Soares, Lucille Colebut, Frances Banks, Barbara Rose, and Louis Soares. Inurnment will take place 11;30 AM, April 13, 2007 at Bourne National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
