Obituary of Gale Edwin Beatty

Gale Edwin Beatty, age 78, of North Port, FL died on April 2, 2007. He was born on May 25, 1928 in Middletown, Ohio, and has been a resident of both North Port and Monroe, Ohio for the last 17 years. Mr. Beatty was President and CEO of Utility Service and Supply, Inc. of Monroe, Ohio for 35 years until his retirement in 1990. He was a life member of the American Water Works Association. He was a member of the Monroe Methodist Church and a WWII Air Force Veteran. An active member of the community, he was named the Monroe “Citizen of the Year” for 1985-1986, was a member of the Monroe Historical Society and Chamber of Commerce, service as President in 1982-1983. Mr. Beatty was a member of the F&AM High Point Lodge #773 in Monroe, the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, and the Antioch Shrine in Dayton, the Eastern Star Prosser Chapter 367, and the Lions Club. In Florida, he taught line dancing with his wife, Betty, at LaCasa, and served as the President of the Computer Club. Mr. Beatty was also a member of the Englewood Elks Club. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth, son Joseph Edwin Beatty, and wife Cindy, of Middletown, Ohio; daughter Pamela Rogers, and husband Gary, of Eaton, Ohio; brothers J. Wendell Beatty of Arkansas, and David Gerald Beatty of Middletown, Ohio; sister Judith Karchnar, also of Middletown; and grandchildren Carey Butrus of Monroe, Jessica Beatty of Dayton, KY, Laura Rogers of Eaton, and Janae Martintoni of Centerville, IN. A memorial service will be held at the LaCasa Mobile Home Park Recreation Center on Thursday, April 5th at 1:30 PM. Farley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
