Obituary of John Edward Whalen

John Edward Whalen, age 70, of North Port, Florida, passed away on June 21, 2007 in Port Charlotte, Florida. He was born on July 26, 1936 in Brockton, MA and moved to North Port this year from West Lebanon, ME. He was an IBEW Local # 223 electrician for 35 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and served from 1957-1960. He was also a member of the Elks Club and would attend them all over the United States. He is survived by his sons, Michael & Matthew Whalen; daughters, Christine Whalen, Virginia Whalen, Colleen Goldenberg, Catherine Anatone; step-son, Stephen Trofatter; step-daughters, Terry Downing, Victoria Trofatter; sister, Maureen Antkoviak and a brother, James Whalen. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren. There are no services planned at this time. Farley Funeral Homes & Crematory, North Port Chapel is handling the arrangements.
