Obituary of Bernice Alice Wurst

Bernice Alice Wurst, age 91 of Venice, Florida, passed away on June 23, 2007. She was born on November 25, 1915 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was a school teacher and artist. She moved to Venice in 1991 from New Jersey. She received numerous awards for her artwork and sculptures and also received national recognition for her talent. She was very active with the Venice Art Center and her artwork is displayed through out Venice and at Jacaranda Trace where she resided with her husband the past seven years. She was also a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Venice. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Frank and a son, Stephen Wurst of the Philippines. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Venice on Friday, June 29, 2007 at 2:00PM. She will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Venice Art Center, 390 S. Nokomis Avenue, Venice, Florida 34285.
