Obituary of George Alexandru

George Florin Alexandru, 23 of Nokomis, Florida passed away September 8, 2007. George was born April 16, 1984 in Romania and came to the United States in 1985. Five years ago he moved to Nokomis from New York City. He was a student at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and was a graduate of the Florida College of Natural Health. He coached the Sarasota Scullers rowing team for 3 years. George was a terrific Child; spectacular coach had a great soul and was a great human being. He is survived by his father and mother; Dragos and Florica Alexandru both of Nokomis. Visitations will be held on Sunday, September 9 and Monday, September 10 from 2-4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at the Farley Funeral Home Venice Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at 4:00 pm at St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church located at 7671 Lockwood Ridge Road, Sarasota, Florida 34243. Burial will follow the service at Venice Memorial Gardens located on Center road.
