Obituary of Alexander Palatash

Alexander Palatash, age 88, of Venice, died on October 1, 2007. He was born on April 10, 1919 in Ukraine, and resided in New York and Michigan before moving to Florida. Alexander was very proud of his native Ukraine. He was a staunch Ukrainian activist, journalist, and entrepreneur. Surviving family members include his daughters, Lisa Pogue of Oregon, and Renee Mongillo of Switzerland; and 2 grandsons, Anthony and David Mongillo. Visitation will be 4 – 6 PM Wednesday, October 3rd at Farley Funeral Home, North Port Chapel, with a Panachyda service at 6 PM. The funeral service will begin at the Funeral Home on Thursday, October 4th at 10 AM, and continue at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Venice Memorial Gardens.
