Obituary of Robert Paul Cornelssen

Robert Paul Cornelssen, age 78, of Venice, Florida, passed away on October 25, 2007. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on January 29, 1929. He worked as a sales executive for General Motors in Detroit, Michigan and retired in 1991 after 35 years of service. He moved to Venice four years ago from Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia and St. Petersburg, Florida. He was a member of the King David Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Taunton, MA. President of G.M. Retirees Club of Sarasota County, Jacaranda Men’s Luncheon club of Venice, Nokomis Men’s Breakfast Club and Venice Presbyterian Church. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Nancy; children, Jane Marchant of Tampa, Janice Cornelssen of Dawsonville, Georgia, Robert Cornelssen, Jr. of Flower Mound, Texas, Cristina Cornelssen of Finneytown, Ohio, Curtis Cornelssen of Fairfax, Virginia and a brother, William Cornellsen of Atlanta, Georgia. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren and six step-grandchildren. A memorial service will be Tuesday, October 30, 2007 -3:00PM at Venice Presbyterian Church. Burial was private for the family at Venice Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 12734 Kenwood Lane, Suite 25, Fort Myers, Florida 33907.
