Obituary of Michael Robert Ward

Michael Robert “Florida Mike” Ward, 49, of Nokomis, passed away on November 10, 2007. He was born in Alexandria Bay, NY on July 20, 1958. Mike has been a life long resident of Sarasota County, having attended Osprey Elementary and graduating from Riverview Highschool in 1976. He was a proud member of the Sons of Silence Motorcycle Club and was a loving husband and father. He was a Methodist. Survivors include his wife of 22 years Lori; three sons, Jason Ward of Port Charlotte, Michael Ball of North Dakota and Cody Shivley of Francisville, IN; two daughters, Catherine and Cierra Ward both of Nokomis; two brothers, Richard of Fernandina Beach, FL and Carl of Fairview, NC; two sisters, Cynthia Abbott of Sarasota and Sheila Sheckells of North Port; mother Hilda Ward of North Port; two grandchildren, Riley and Ayva both of Port Charlotte. He was preceded in death last year by his father Howard Ward. A memorial gathering will be 2 PM on Saturday, November 17th at the family’s residence. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Michael’s name at any branch of the Wachovia Bank.
