Obituary of John J. Dillon

John J. (Jack) Dillon, 77, of North Port, FL (formerly of Tampa, FL), passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, December 24, 2007, following a long illness. He was born May 8, 1930 in Manhattan, NY and relocated to Tampa, FL in 1971. He served in the U.S. Army and Army National Guard in New York, and retired in 1991 following a 42 year career with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. He was a parishioner of St. Lawrence Catholic Church (Tampa), was a 3rd Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus Council #11830 (Tampa), and a member of the American Legion Post 152 (Tampa). He is survived by his wife Kathy of 33 years; eight children, Cathy (Robert) Turner, Diane (Michael) Peterson, Mary (Curtis) Gulledge, Lori Lindsay, Michele (Kevin) Flaherty, Kevin (Jennifer) Dillon, Shannon Dillon (Donnie), and John III; ten grandchildren; one sister, Marion Kane of New York.
