Obituary of James Eugene Burke
James Eugene Burke of Nokomis, FL passed away January 18, 2008. He was 87. He was born March 2, 1920 in Savannah, GA. Burke was a Marine veteran of World War II. He worked in elected positions for the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen in New York, Michigan and Washington, D.C., ultimately achieving the position of International Vice President, United Transportation Union. Burke retired in 1982 and moved to Nokomis with his wife Bernice. Survivors include his daughter Donna Stocker of Wickenburg, AZ, a dear friend Jane Haggerty of Nokomis, FL, niece Patricia Foley of Levittown, NY and two grandchildren.
