Obituary of Cleon Franklin Kern

Cleon Franklin Kern, 86, of Rotonda West, FL died January 30, 2008. He was born January 22, 1922 in Manchester, Michigan. Mr. Kern graduated from Dexter High School and later received his degree from Maryville College in Tennessee. After serving as a pilot in the US Air Force he went on work as a Mechanical Engineer. In 1984 he and his wife came to live in Florida to be closer to their family. He was a member of the Elks, longtime member of the Rotonda Golf & Country Club, and was President of the Rotonda West Association. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia in 2003. Survivors include his daughter Karen Sachkar and son-in-law Steve Sachkar; his three grandchildren Patrick, Kevin and Amanda; his brother Richard Kern of Cocoa Beach, FL; and his longtime friend and companion Marge Steeb.
