Obituary of Marie Ann Honhorst

Marie Ann Honhorst, age 91, of North Port, Florida, passed away on March 5, 2008. The daughter of German parents, Marie learned early on the true meaning of family, hard work and faith. Marie had several secretarial/administrative positions with companies in Cincinnati, including The General Electric Corporation. She retired from the City of Cincinnati in 1973. Marie enjoyed music, radio talk shows and discussing politics. A devout Catholic, Marie was a true “prayer warrior”. Even when her own health declined, she remained vigilant in her prayers to the Lord for others in need. Marie supported many religious charities and remembered special occasions of family members by honoring them with perpetual masses. Our Lord Jesus was always on her mind and in her heart along with the welfare of family. Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years to William Honhorst also of Cincinnati. They moved to North Port in 1980. She will be dearly missed by her loving daughter, Kathleen (Steve) Burnam of Port Charlotte; daughter-in-law, Mae Honhorst, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her two sons, James Honhorst and William Charles Honhorst.
