Obituary of Kenneth H. Bergman

Kenneth Bergman, 91, of North Port, FL, died Friday, March 21, 2008 at the Quality Health Care Center in North Port. Kenneth was born June 15, 1916 to Harrison and Lillian Bergman in Pontiac, Ill. His brother Russell, his sister, and his only daughter, Mary Ann, preceded him in death. Kenneth graduated from Pontiac High School in 1935, achieved his BA and MA degrees from Illinois State Normal University, and obtained his Doctorate of Education from Colorado State College in 1963. He was a member of the armed services and was stationed at Carlstrom Field during WWII. Kenneth and his wife, Mary, moved to North Port in 1981, from Muncie, Indiana, where he was a professor at Ball State University. Throughout his long life, he pursued his love of golf and interest in computers. While in Muncie, he was a member and an officer in a number of Masonic Orders. He was active in various Christian Churches, serving as a Sunday School superintendent, teacher, elder, deacon and a trustee. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary; granddaughter, Alisa; and several nieces and nephews.
