Obituary of William A. Westlake

William A. Westlake, 81, of Venice, Florida died March 29, 2008. He was born April 8, 1926 in Hackensack, New Jersey. Mr. Westlake moved to Venice in 1989 from Fort Wayne, Indiana. Mr. Westlake was a graduate of Lawrenceville Prep School, Princeton University and received his MBA from George Washington University. He was a corporate executive for Westinghouse – Elevator Division for 27 years, Majestic Fireplace for 6 years, and Beatrice Foods for 9 years. Mr. Westlake was a Presbyterian Elder in New Jersey and most recently was a member of Venice Presbyterian Church. He also volunteered as Vice-President of the Sarasota County Chapter of Habitat for Humanity and as the President of the Princeton Club of Sarasota. Survivors include his wife of 47 years; Shirley of Venice, FL; his 3 daughters; Susan Hutcheson of Dublin, Ohio, Deborah Mattocks of Fairfax, VA, and Chris Westlake of Sarasota, FL; his son Mark Westlake of Fishers, Indiana, and 7 grandchildren; Elizabeth and Kimberly Hutcheson, Holly, Todd and Scott Mattocks, and Lauren and Max Westlake.
