Obituary of Adam R. Johnston

Adam R. (Bob) Johnston, 89, died April 12, 2008 in Nags Head, NC. Bob was born June 26, 1918 in Portsmouth, Va. He lived in New Jersey all his life before moving to North Port, Fl. in 1981. He moved to Kill Devil Hills, NC two years ago to be near his daughter and son-in-law. Special thanks to the staff at Spring Arbor and Britthaven for all the care they provided for Bob. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Olive Schaible Johnston, and grandson, Jeffery Wolfe, Jr. Survivors include daughter, Gail King and husband, John of Kitty Hawk, NC; daughter, Cheryl J. Wolfe and partner, Jacob Vitas, of Austin, TX.; 3 grandchildren: Tammy Wolfe of Helmetta, NJ; Christine King, M.D. and husband, Charles Allen, of Medford, NJ; and Brian King and wife, Lauren, of Chapel Hill, NC; and 6 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, April 21 at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in North Port, Florida where Bob was a member for 25 years. Burial will follow at Venice Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 5550 Sumter Blvd., North Port, and Fl. 34287. Farley Funeral Home in North Port is handling the arrangements.
