Obituary of William Barth

William Barth, 81, Nokomis, FL formerly of Rochester, NY died April 20, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Eleanor. Children David (Tricia) Barth of Rochester, NY, Carol (Tom) Schmitt of Rochester, NY and William (Christina) Barth of Charlotte, NC; Grandchildren, Taylor, Timothy and Katharine Barth, Cole, Vaughn and Reed Schmitt, Brittni, Alexandra and Julia Barth. William is also survived by his sister Helen (Tom) Ankrum of Philadelphia and many nieces and nephews. William leaves behind many close friends in the Kings Gate Club community where he and his wife have lived for the last 11 years. William was founder and President of Power Drives Rochester Corp. Upon retirement he and Eleanor enjoyed many years of traveling with their RV before settling in Nokomis. William was an avid golfer and enjoyed politics, reading and travel. William was an active volunteer for the VA Clinic in Sarasota, FL as well as the American Red Cross/Meals on Wheels in Rochester. William is a member of Atonement Lutheran Church in Brighton. A memorial service was held in his honor at Farley Funeral Chapel in Venice, FL on April 23, 2008.
