Obituary of Irving Ellwood St. Onge

Irving Ellwood “Al” St. Onge Jr., 81, Taylor, Michigan and Venice died May 1, 2008. Services will be held at a later date. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Barbara of Taylor, Michigan and Venice; sons Douglas and Gregory (Janice); daughter Jenice Clewett (Ronald); and five grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Genevieve Lavender of Venice and a dear cousin Alice St. Onge. He has been a winter resident of Venice for the last 20 years. As a young man he played hockey in northern Michigan, and toured Europe with the Army during the Korean War playing softball. Al worked for the American Standard in Detroit as a traffic manager for 25 years and as a building engineer in the public school system in Taylor. He was a life member of the VFW and the DAV.
