Obituary of Stella Layton Wentworth

Stella Layton Wentworth, age 90, of Nokomis, Florida, passed away on May 3, 2008. She was born on September 20, 1917 in South Portland, Maine. She was a graduate of South Portland High School and Northeastern Business College. She was active in Thornton Heights Methodist Church in South Portland; YWCA in Portland; Home Extension Club in Miami, Florida. She moved to Nokomis, Florida in 1990 from Miami. She was a homemaker and attended Venice-Nokomis United Methodist Church in Nokomis. She is survived by her son, Ron (Joy) Wentworth of Nokomis; sisters, June McCubrey & Jeanette Hall both of Portland, Maine; niece, Nancy Cobb of New Gloucester, Maine; and three nephews, Donald Hall of South Portland, Maine, Frederick Hall of Portland, Maine and David McCubrey of Buxton, Maine. Visitation and service will be held in Portland, Maine with burial to follow at Brooklawn Memorial Park in Portland. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 1230 S. Tuttle Avenue, Sarasota, Florida 34239. Farley Funeral Home in Venice, Florida is handling the arrangements.
