Obituary of Marilyn Drumgool

Marilyn Ruth (Kenney) Drumgool entered eternity on August 19th into her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ's arms. Marilyn passed peacefully in her sleep at her home on the Island of Venice. Marilyn is formally from New England. She was born in Boston Massachusetts on November 30,1937. She spent most of her childhood in Randolph Mass where she worked as a Switch Board Operator. She married Richard Drumgool from Brockton Massachusetts and settled in Halifax Massachusetts, raising 7 children. Marilyn has been a long-time resident of Venice. Her love for cooking was shared not only with her family, where she raised many fine chef's, but also with her community where she served locally for many years. Her love for crafting and sewing can be found not only in her community but especially in the lives of her children and her grandchildren and great grandchildren, sporting knitted hats, mittens, sweaters, and beautiful baby blankets welcoming those new littles ones into her family. She loved Venice Bible Church and faithfully served there for many years and carried a passion for Jesus into the community where she lived and served. She was a strong cancer survivor who also enjoyed golf and could be found weekly enjoying Bingo with her husband and friends of her community. She leaves behind her husband Richard of 65 years, 3 sons, Michael of Landrum South Carolina, Daniel of Venice Florida, Timothy of Sarasota Florida and 2 daughters, Susan Coderre of North Port, Florida and Christine Gay of Sarasota Florida. She has 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She joins her 2 sons David and Richard in Heaven and was preceded in death by her sisters Clair and Lois and her brothers Frank, Thomas and James . Services for family and friends will be Saturday August 29th at Lift Church in Venice Fl, 34285. As the wife of an US Army reservists she will be laid to rest at the Sarasota National Cemetery on a later date.
