Obituary of Joseph Paul Young
Joseph Young, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away at his house in Venice, FL on Thursday, October 5th, 2023, at the age of 70.
Joe was born and raised in Georgia, graduating from Stone Mountain High School. It was there that he met the love of his life, Florence, whom he married in 1975. Joe was known for his remarkably sweet and gentle nature, always displaying thoughtfulness and care towards everyone he encountered.
Family meant the world to Joe, and he cherished his wife, children, and grandchildren above all else. It wasn't uncommon to hear him proudly boast (brag) about their accomplishments. In addition to his family, Joe had a passion for the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. He also enjoyed spending his free time with his collection of classic cars, motorcycles, and his beloved pontoon boat.
Joe dedicated his entire career to the car business, where he was known for his relentless work ethic. For the past 38 years, Joe was a valued member of the Carl Black Automotive Group. In 2005, he and his wife Florence made the decision to relocate to Florida, though they continued to spend cherished moments in Atlanta.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Young Sr., and Evelyn Young, as well as his brothers Bobby Young and Bill Young. He is survived by his loving wife Florence Young, daughter Stephanie Young, son Jody Young, sister Judy Phillips, daughter-in law Kara, sons-in-law Kevin Simmons. He will also be deeply missed by his grandchildren Kristina, Hadley, Harris, Harlow, and his dog Marley.
In memory of Joe, the family kindly requests donations to the Sun Coast Humane Society in lieu of flowers. A memorial service will be held in the coming weeks, allowing friends and family to come together to celebrate the life of a remarkable man who touched the lives of so many.
