Obituary of Ann Skow
Anna Neidow Skow, age 73, of Venice, Florida, passed away on September 14, 2023. Anna was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan.
Ann obtained her Bachelors degree from Wayne State University in elementary education.
After moving to Florida in 1973, “Mrs. Skow” became a beloved teacher who was part of the first year faculty at Garden Elementary School in Venice. Ann spent her entire teaching career of 35 years educating and loving hundreds of students. Ann met her loving husband, Ron, while teaching at Garden Elementary. “Mrs. Skow” was often spotted around town by many of her “kids,” which always made her smile her beautiful smile.
Ann spent much time with family and friends and could be found volunteering and giving to local charities, especially The TWIG and All Faiths Food Bank. She was an avid reader and enjoyed participating in many book clubs. Ann was a talented artist who loved creating beaded jewelry. She was a floraphile who had a love of orchids, hydrangeas, staghorn ferns, and plumeria.
Ann is survived by her loving husband of almost 39 Years, Ron Skow; her sister Katie Hill and her husband Brian; her brother, Chris Neidow and his wife Joanne; her step-mother Annie Neidow; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her mother, Rowene Neidow, and her father, Arthur Neidow.
