Obituary of John Hartley Perry, Sr.
John Hartley Perry, Sr., 72, passed away unexpectedly in Port Charlotte, FL on September 2, 2023. He was born August 4, 1951, in Bradford, PA, the son of the late Hallis Perry and Marilyn Smith.
John graduated from Bradford Area High School, Class 0f 1970, and served in the United States Air Force. John was formerly from Bradford, PA and relocated to FL in 1989. He was the Owner and President of Gator Water Analysis and Treatment, Inc for over 30 years. He was proud of the Company he started which won Business of the Year for 6 years in a row, and he was one of the few who held a license with the Department of Environmental Protection Agency in the State of Florida.
John was a member of the North Port Chamber of Commerce and the Heron Creek Country Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, skeet shooting, and collecting sports cars.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Clara Perry, and his sister Nancy Saxton. John is survived by his children Todd (Kelly) Smith, Barbara (Christopher) Slike, Denise Crowe (Scott Holman), Michael Perry, and Victoria Perry, 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and many friends and extended family members.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00PM on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Farley Funeral Home, 5900 S Biscayne Dr, North Port, FL 34287.
