Obituary of Chris Sardinas

Christopher “Chris” M. Sardinas, age 60, of Venice, FL, passed away on August 18, 2023, after a long battle with stage 4 lung cancer.  He was born on June 11, 1963, to Donald and Josephine Sardinas. His family moved to Venice in September of 1971. Chris played Little League for the Optimist Club and Venice Viking Football along with his brother, Joseph. Chris attended Venice schools graduating from Venice High School in 1981. Chris worked in the grocery industry for many years ascending to a line manager at Food Lion. He then worked at PGT Glass for over 20 years, also becoming a manager. Chris’s hard work ethic and reliability shining through in both places.

Chris was a true child of the 70s and enjoyed music from that era, especially Rock n’ Roll, over any other epoch. He kept the many vinyl records bought during that time. He enjoyed old movies and TV shows from the 70s and would watch them often. A lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys, much to the chagrin of his father Donald and brother Joseph, who were lifelong Giants fans. However, all three could agree on the NY Mets, Rangers, and Knicks. He was also a big fan of NASCAR and “his guy” was Dale Earnhardt, Senior.

Chris was soft spoken and an even keel person, with a dry sense of humor. He was very dedicated to his family, especially his Italian mother Josephine, Mama Josie, who survives him, along with brothers Joseph and Brian and sister-in-law Bridget and a long list of friends, many from his high school days. Chris was well loved by his family and friends and will be missed and remembered by them forever.

Christopher was preceded in death by his father Donald Robert and former wife Andrea.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, August 25, 2023, at Epiphany Cathedral in Venice. Burial will be at Venice Memorial Gardens.
