Obituary of Doris Tichy Benton

Doris Tichy Benton, 83, passed away peacefully in Port Charlotte, FL on July 31, 2023, after a brief illness. She was born on July 15, 1940, in Guilford, CT to Frank and Mollie (Seifert) Tichy. Doris graduated from Guilford High School in 1958. She was employed by Chesebrough-Ponds and was later self-employed. Doris married her husband Robert Benton in 1959 residing in Guilford, CT until they relocated to North Port, FL in 2001.

Doris enjoyed gardening, golf, crossword puzzles and painting and was a member of the North Port Art Center.

Doris is predeceased by her parents Frank and Mollie Tichy, brothers Ted Tichy, Henry Tichy, Frank Tichy, Edwin Tichy, and sisters Sandra Cox, Emelia Andersen, Alice McCarthy, Verna Pucella, Iola Goodison, and Clara Foster.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert Ellery Benton, Sr, son Robert Ellery Benton, Jr. and his wife Connie of Allentown, PA, brother Donald Tichy of Guilford, CT, and many friends and extended family.
