Obituary of Catherine Ann Thomas

Catherine “Cathy” Ann Thomas age 75 of North Venice, FL passed away on July 11, 2023. Cathy was born to Mary and Nicholas Serdar in Hazel Park, MI on May 10, 1948. She grew up as an active member of the Croatian community, enjoying her community's music, dances, and food. Cathy was a creative soul pursuing art, quilting, and decorating throughout her lifetime. Her Michigan, Ohio, and Florida friends will attest to her marvelous cooking skills. She was an active member of the Sertoma Club of Venice and the neighborhood landscape committee. Cathy will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, and friend and will be missed by all that knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents Mary and Nicholas Serdar, and brother Michael Cavlovic.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Ronald Thomas; daughters Angela (Robert) Guerin, Nicole (Travis Hosier) Thomas, Tricia Loc, and Yvonne Thomas; grandchildren Emma and Ryan Guerin, Owen and Max Hosier, Amelia and Nicholas Loc, Ty, Chase, and Gabe Shipman; brother Robert Borngesser.
