Obituary of David Lee Cooper

David Lee Cooper passed away after a brief illness on June 19, 2023, at his home in Nokomis, Florida.  He was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, a Navy veteran, a graduate of the University of Michigan, a 30 year engineer with Ford Motor Company, and in retirement, a 25 year member at Mission Valley Country Club.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Maxine Cooper.  David is survived by his wife of 45 years, Maureen, his brother Loren Kenneth Cooper, his nephew Robert, and niece Sandi.  He is also survived by four stepsons — Michael (Wendy), Patrick, John “Jack” (Kathy), and Kevin as well as grandchildren Ali (Nathan), Ian (Cynthia), Abigail, and Keegan.  A private memorial service, with military honors, will take place at a future date at Sarasota National Cemetery.  The family asks that any donations in David’s name be given to Tidewell Hospice of Venice.
