Obituary of Betty Ann Beals Moore

Betty Ann Beals Moore, age 84, of Venice, FL passed away on May 25, 2023. She was born May 2, 1939, to Phyllis and Kenneth Beals in Northampton, MA. Betty was a registered nurse.  She was an elementary school nurse for many years at John F. Kennedy School in Windsor, CT before retiring to Venice in 1997.

Betty enjoyed many things such as sewing, quilting, arts and crafts, theorem painting, antiques, and gardening. Betty was also an avid UCONN women’s basketball fan. She participated in many women’s clubs and church choirs. She enjoyed being active in her children’s lives serving on the local parent-teacher organization, music parents’ organization, and as a girl scout leader.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents Phyllis and Kenneth Beals and sisters Jane Filkins and Linda Taylor.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 62 years Clark Moore of Venice, FL; son Jeffrey Moore of Plainfield, NH; daughters Amy Covell of Madbury, NH, and Jennifer Santo of Salem, MA; brother Dale Beals of Plainfield, MA; three grandsons; four granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter.

A memorial service for Betty was held on May 31, 2023, at Venice United Church of Christ. An internment will be held this summer in Ashfield, MA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Venice United Church of Christ 620 Shamrock Blvd. Venice, FL 34293.

Betty will be deeply missed by her friends and family. She will be remembered as someone who always puts others’ needs before her own. She is now at peace in heaven and forever in our hearts.
