Obituary of Michelle Kane Calorio
Michelle Kane Calorio, 54, unexpectedly passed away on May 20th, 2023, at her father and stepmother's house in Venice, FL. She was born on May 30th, 1968, in Binghamton, NY to William James Kane and the late Dorothy Elizabeth Coleman. She moved to southeast PA as a child, and lived there for the remainder of her youth. After graduating high school in 1989, she attended Pennsylvania State University where she completed her BS degree in Nursing in 1992. Following college she settled down in the suburbs northeast of Philadelphia with her eventual husband, Michael T. Calorio, working as a registered nurse in an emergency room.
Throughout their marriage, they had three children; Joseph, Danielle, and Nicholas, whom she loved dearly. Michelle is survived by her three children and their father Michael T. Calorio; her father, William Kane and his wife Linda; her brother, Willie Kane Jr. and his wife Barb; her aunts, Judy Delvillano, Mary Matthews, and Carol Smith; her uncle William Johnson and his wife Faye; many cousins, and a very important group of girlfriends, including her closest friend, Lori Matusz Nicolo. She is preceded in death by her stepfather Frederick T. Coleman Jr., and her mother, Dorothy Elizabeth Coleman, who she shared an immensely special relationship with.
Michelle's life was all about laughter, living in the moment, and making every day a celebration with her friends and family. She had a deep love for listening to live music -particularly the Grateful Dead-, Penn State football, driving her convertible on sunny days, and traveling. As friends and family would note, she was vivacious, bold, spontaneous and wildly adventurous; you could always find her outdoors with a smile on her face and urging those she loved to join.
In 2021, following a career in nursing that spanned 30 years, she finally got to live out her dream of moving to an island. The destination of choice was Sint Maarten, and she loved living there; dedicating much of her time to her pets- one aptly named Jerry Garcia. She frequently spoke of the natural beauty of the island, and how she was so happy to finally be living in paradise.
Michelle will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She will be remembered for her many quirks and the profound impact she made on those who were blessed to have spent time with her.
