Rosemarie Wagner

Obituary of Rosemarie Wagner

Rosemarie Wagner, beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother peacefully passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023 after a lengthy illness.

Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan to Peter and Mary Garanzini, Rose led a full life surrounded by extended family from Italy. She attended Catholic school and after graduation married her first husband, Edward Sosnowski, with whom she had two children. In July of 1973 Rose married Glen Wagner and they began the adventure of their life together with their blended family.

After a brief time working for Chrysler, the remainder of Rose’s professional career was spent working for an insurance company in Detroit. She lived in Warren, Michigan before moving to Venice, Florida with Glen for their retirement. Through the years they square danced their way across the globe visiting Hawaii, Italy, Ireland, Scotland, Germany just to name a few of their favorites…and played every board game and card game they could get their hands on. Dominos was a favorite pass time when her family visited Venice. Volunteering for Venice Regional Hospital, going to Venice Little Theater, hanging out with friends at Panera and enjoying the Florida weather made for a wonderful life.

Rosemarie moved to Arizona in August of 2021 after Glen’s passing, beginning yet another adventure and making new friends in her apartment in Chandler, Arizona. Art classes, karaoke, more dominos, dinner theater, boat rides, stage plays and concerts filled her days. Her favorite thing, though, was doing ANYTHING with her great granddaughter!

She is survived by her brother Alex Garanzini, daughter Carol David and her husband Richard, Deborah Wagner, Mark Wagner and his wife Kathy, and Elizabeth Rounds and her husband Blair, and was predeceased by her son Mark Sosnowski.

Rosemarie is also survived by grandchildren Victoria, Jacqueline, Jason, Amanda, Cole, Mackenzie, and great-grandchildren Abigail and Eleanor Rosemarie, Luke, Hailey, Chance, Bennett, Lillian, Wyatt, and Elliott.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Epiphany Cathedral, 310 Sarasota St., Venice, FL at 11:00am on Wednesday, May 17, 2023.
