Fayrene Martin

Obituary of Fayrene Martin

Fayrene Martin, age 84, met her Lord and Savior, Jesus on Good Friday, April 7, 2023, at
home with her faithful husband, Kenny, at her side. Fay was diagnosed with Pulmonary
Fibrosis in 2006 and courageously outlived the prognosis for over 17 years through her
faith in God and love for her family.

Fay was born in Marion County, Alabama to Odell and Curl Lawler. Their family moved to
Adrian, Michigan when Fay was 5. It was in Adrian she met and married the love of her
life, Kenneth Martin Jr. on August 10, 1957. They celebrated over 65 years of loving and
exemplary marriage that inspired many others.

Fay worked for AGET Manufacturing for over 30 years as an Executive Administrator and
became known as the unofficial “company engineer” by all the new customers. She
retired in 2001 and enjoyed traveling with Kenny, hosting friends and family in her home,
and spending time loving on and passing on family traditions to her grandchildren.
Fay was a member of Bethany Assembly of God in Adrian, Michigan since 1944. She
served faithfully as a part of the hospitality ministry of the church, children’s ministry,
and music ministry. Church was one of her favorite places to be.

Fay had the gift of hospitality. Her home was always warm and welcoming and open to
anyone who needed a friend, a meal, a hug, or a place to stay. Fay loved to cook, create
special holiday experiences for her family, sew, create fun gifts, bake specialty cakes for
family and friends, and regularly host guests in her home. Her servant heart and
accepting love of others made her a favorite to all who knew her from family, friends,
neighbors, co-workers, and her church.

She is survived by her husband, Kenny, now residing in Venice, Florida; Two children,
Ken (Phyllis) Martin III of Springfield, Missouri; Mary Beth (Steve) Bradshaw of Venice,
Florida; four grandchildren, Natasha (David) Bayes and Alicia Martin, of Springfield,
Missouri; and Weston (Becca) Bradshaw and Brianna (Nick) Canaveral of Venice, Florida.
She also enjoyed three great grandchildren, Makenzie, Audrey, and Ellis “Mo.” Fay is also
survived by her sisters, Sue Newell of Alabama and Darlene (Dennis) Duttlinger of
Hawaii; brother-in-law Jim (Bobbie) Martin and sister-in-Law Cynthia (Dan) Schumacher
and 13 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Odell and Curl

Proverbs 31 describes Fay,

“A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.”

“Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her …Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all…Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.”
