Obituary of John W. Dillon
DILLON, JOHN W., ( also known as Bubba to his grandkids and great grandkids)
75 of Northport, FL departed his earthly life April 3, 2023 after a brief hospitalization.
John was born December 4, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio to Warren (Bud) Dillon and Ruth Bratton Dillon. John graduated from Whetstone High school in Columbus and attended The Ohio State University. John married Victoria Castorano Dillon May 22, 1971. He lived most of his life in Grove City and later South Vienna, Ohio. After 25 plus years of service he retired from Dayton Freight in 2014. John and Vicki then moved to Northport, Florida to live out their retirement dreams in the sunshine state. John enjoyed being a member of the Myakka Pines golf club and golfing several times a week. He had an amazing talent for restoring antiques, and a passion for collecting art by Florida artists. He also enjoyed fishing, garage sales, and cheering on his Buckeyes with the Twisted Buckeye Club.
John is survived by his wife Vicki, Children Jessica (Paul) Cummins, John Jeffery Dillon & Stephanie(Dan) Kvosnak
Grandchildren, Anna, Vicki, and Max Cummins, and Jillian Layman, great grandchildren, Grayson , Emerson Brantley, Kaisley and Novalee, sister Judy (George) Smith, in laws JoAnn Hummel, Tom (Jeannie) Castorano, and Paula (Matt) Davis-Scurlock, his dog Rusty, and many cousins, extended family, and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Farley Funeral Home in North Port is in charge of arrangements.
