Obituary of David Paul Rakyta

David “Dave” Paul Rakyta age 75 of Venice, FL passed away Friday, February 24^th, 2023. He was born in Torrington, CT on November 20^th, 1947, to Paul and Ellen Rakyta. David was a US Army veteran serving from 1973-1979. David was a teacher, he worked for several years at Loveland Center in Venice, FL, and was most recently employed at Beyond the Spectrum. In addition, he was an artist member of the Venice Art Center who mentored young artists.

David is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Ellen Rakyta; and brother Paul Rakyta Jr.

David leaves behind his son Christian Rakyta; stepchildren Rosemary Aumack and husband Ethan, Doug Logan, and wife Meg, and Steve Logan and wife Natalie; two sisters Melanie Rakyta and Sheryl Kennedy and husband Jim; sixteen beloved grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, March 8^th, 2023 at 2 pm followed by a memorial service at 3 pm at Farley Funeral Home in Venice, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Venice, FL YMCA at www.ymcaswfl.org/give.
